A Low Price, Delicious Tuscan Red

Duca di Saragnano Sir Passo

Vivino Rating: 3.8

Italy: Tuscany

Deep red colour, dark fruit aromas on the nose.

A blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Merlot with a "portion" of the grapes picked four weeks late yields intense tastes of black and red cherry, red plum and blackberries with strong notes of pomegranate throughout.

Medium bodied with minimal tannins but lively acidity keeps it from edging into jammy territory.

The effect of the Merlot smoothing out the Sangiovese becomes more pronounced with breathing and adds to a shortish finish.

Great value for a Tuscan wine, serve with tomato based pasta dishes.

ABV 14.0%, 13 g/L residual sugar.
